Poker Sets

8

Poker Sets are sets for playing poker at home, mostly in an aluminium case. They differ mainly in the number of chips, with 200, 300 or 500 on offer, and there is also a version with 13.5 gram clay chips. The range comes from Buffalo and NORTH and suits anyone looking for a full set in a single case.

How many poker chips do you need per player?

The number of chips mainly determines how many people can play comfortably. As a guide, allow around 40 to 50 chips per person for a regular evening. A set with 200 chips is then usually enough for four players, 300 chips covers six, and 500 chips gives you room for a full table or a long-running tournament. If you often play in large groups, look at the NORTH poker case with 600 chips, which also comes with a card shuffler. Looking for a mini poker set for two or three players instead? There’s the NORTH poker set in a mahogany-look case with 100 chips, which measures about 28 by 14 cm.

What’s in a poker case?

A good poker case holds more than just chips. The Buffalo aluminium sets with 200 and 500 chips also include:

  • a dealer button
  • five dice
  • two decks of linen-finish playing cards

The chips in these sets have no printed values, so you decide which colour stands for which stake, which is handy if you play both cash games and tournaments. In the 500-chip case they come in ten rolls of 50; in the 200-chip case, in three rolls of 50 and two of 25. When the cards wear out after many evenings, you’ll find new decks among our playing cards.

A poker set for experienced players

If you’ve been playing for a while, you’ll mainly look at the weight and finish of the chips. The chips in the Buffalo aluminium sets weigh 11.5 grams; the Poker Set DLX 500 uses 13.5 gram clay chips and so feels heavier in the hand. The NORTH sets with 300 and 600 chips use laser chips. If you play with a regular group and it grows, you can add to your set later with individual poker chips.

Which poker set suits your poker night?

Choose based on your group: a small set for the occasional game with two or three players, 200 to 300 chips for a regular card night with friends, and 500 or 600 chips if you host larger groups or tournaments. Want the evening to feel like a real casino? Then pair your set with one of our poker tables.
