Trampolines come in several sizes, round or rectangular, from about 250 to 520 cm across. The category runs from the trampoline itself to the matching equipment: safety nets, frame pads, covers and other accessories.
When choosing a trampoline you decide between above-ground and in-ground models: one stands on the ground, the other is sunk into it. Many models come as a set with a safety net. Berg Toys, Salta and Exit Toys are among the brands that appear most often.

Above-ground, in-ground or FlatGround: which type suits your garden?
An above-ground trampoline stands on legs above the lawn. On a 430 cm BERG Regular the entry height is 90 to 95 cm, so a small ladder comes in handy. An in-ground trampoline sits in a dug-out pit: on the BERG Favorit InGround 430 the entry height is just 20 cm. BERG FlatGround models sit flush with the lawn. So an in-ground model means digging first, while an above-ground model goes straight onto the grass.
What size trampoline do you need?
The number in the product name is the outside size of the frame. The jumping mat itself is smaller: on a round 430 cm BERG it measures 354 cm. The range falls roughly into four groups:
- Compact (183 to 253 cm): including the Salta Comfort Edition 183, EXIT Silhouette 183 and Etan Classic 250.
- Medium (305 to 380 cm): Salta 305 and 366, North Explorer 360, BERG 330 and 380.
- Large (410 to 430 cm): BERG 430, Salta 427, EXIT PeakPro ø427 and North Explorer 430.
- Extra large (500 cm and up): BERG Grand 520, BERG Ultim 500 and the Ultim Pro Bouncer 5x5.
Thinking in feet? A 12ft trampoline is roughly 366 cm (such as the Etan Inground Hi-Flyer 12), and 14ft is 427 to 430 cm. Measure the full outside size in your garden first, then allow extra clear space around and above the trampoline, away from fences, walls and overhanging branches. With its net, a 430 cm BERG above-ground trampoline stands about 2.7 m tall.
Round or rectangular?
Most trampolines are round. If your garden is long and narrow, a rectangular model often fits better. Salta offers sizes including 153 x 214, 214 x 305, 214 x 366 and 244 x 427 cm, and EXIT has in-ground models in 214 x 366 and 244 x 366 cm. The BERG Grand Champion 520 has an elongated 444 x 269 cm jumping mat.
Net, padding and anchoring
Want a trampoline with a safety net? Check whether the product name includes “+ Safety Net”: if it does, the net is part of the set, even on small sizes such as the Salta Comfort Edition 251. Models without it, such as the grey BERG Elite Regular 430, come without a net. You’ll find a matching separate net among the trampoline safety nets. If your padding needs replacing, choose a trampoline padding cover that matches the brand, series, size and above-ground or in-ground version, for example the 430 cm BERG Champion Regular or Champion InGround padding. For a trampoline on legs there are anchor kits from BERG, Salta, EXIT and Etan; the BERG anchor kit is designed for BERG trampolines on legs.
